They matched each others surges up the 30% climbs with differing riding styles, each suited to their own physiology. At the finish Rodriguez pulled clear in a 'sprint' over the last 150m, but probably only due to Contadour lacking a little in riding fitness due to his suspension earlier in the season. A great contest.
Doesn't tell you much though .... although Rodriguez used a higher gear he wasn't exactly grinding.
