Ok, what time will the "band of rain tonight" hit the city?
Who's got the guts to put a time on it?
And I mean real not, with the wind change, not the fluffy, virga-effected stuff.
I will SPEW if I don't get a decent ride in tonight, like last week. Boo! http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR141.loop.shtml
It will hit the CBD at 8:42 pm
I should be leaving work by 8pm. That should hopefully get me home before anything too major...
I'm thinking that I need to revise my forecast ...
Actually, that was the best commute I've had in ages! Left work after 8ish, still seemed quite nice... mild... calm... strolled up the street with workmate who was headed into the CBD, paused at the corner to chat... and suddenly huge gusts of wind were hitting us, the temperature was noticeably dropping - and I decided it was time to exit stage right!
Headed up Brunswick St with gusting side wind, but no worries... got to St Georges, still, not too concerned... got to shared path part of St Georges... started to ramp up the speed a bit (had picked up a dark ninja, too), thinking I would make it home before it got *too* bad...
Those huge, random drops of rain started hitting. Hmmmmm. Was soaked through by Bell St. Was grinning all the way to Murray Rd. Somehow, it didn't seem as bad with the rain and wind kind of hitting me mostly side on, rather than having to slog into it, blinded. Didn't even bother putting on the rain jacket, as I was warm enough - but sopping wet by home.
Scared a poor Huntsman putting out the bins.
Hot shower, warm long socks, cold beer...
What's not to love?
Edit: but roshea, you're still welcome to come over and stuff my riding shoes with newspaper...
