First-time poster here folks, so please be gentle and excuse my ramblings...
Did a quick trip down the Federation Trail last Sunday from Newport to Hoppers and back. Other than the delightful scents emanating from the Brooklyn Waste disposal, it was pretty uneventful until I got to the Williams Landing crossing at Sayers Road. There I was acosted by two of the "delightful creatures". Thankfully, one of them is quite noisy and you can hear it warbling away as it's trying to attack you, so no harm done.
The other problem, however, is that I knew I'd have to come back that way - not really a fun prospect. So, I placed my Jumbo helmet cam backwards on my helmet so, if worst came to worst, I might actually have some video to brag about afterwards. Funnily enough, I passed another rider by that intersection on the way back and actually have him on screen behind me getting attacked - although this time only one of them. So best of both worlds really, got my footage and escaped unscathed. Not sure I'll go that way again though. (and for the record, yes, I did
warn the other rider about the magpies - I'm not totally cruel).
