Welcome home to Melbourne's beautiful weather.
Today was back to my normal Monday morning ride.
Woke up and got up at 4:40am, a tad early, but excited to be riding back home again.
It was DARK, not used to this, it was COOL, so I wore my normal knicks and short sleeve jersey with long sleeve jacket PLUS some extras consisting of long fingered gloves, explorer socks, long tights and wet weather jacket. I was warm. Actually, as I powered along the Baytrail from the clocktower to Station Pier, I had to unzip my wet weather jacket, I had raised a sweat.
I left home about 5:55am and met Matty(mb27) and Cliff at North Road Cafe at 6:45am, we then headed off to Sputinos at Beacon Cove for their world famous Egg and Bacon sanga, Ohhh, how I have missed them.
The first thing that I noticed was that my E&B sanga and large capaccino had gone up by 20cents to $13.10.
The E&B was beautiful, after brekky Matty and I said goodbye to Cliff and rode off to the Casino, where Matty headed off to work. I continued onto SouthBank where I had another coffee and headed home along the Baytrail to the clocktower.
I notcied that at the Marina, they have dug up the existing carpark and are building something, I don't know what. The other thing that I noticed is that the bike path near the Red Bluff Pub, is now completed and very good.
I arrived at 'my benchseat' at the clocktower and ate my bananas while looking out over the bay, there were 3 ships at anchor and the Tassie Boat was still in dock. The weather looks foreboding, with a couple of very light droplets of rain.
I arrived home a bit after 10am and it was great out riding.
I now have to start to put pressure on "The Duckmeister" to finish my new bike. To be fair, my bike is all built, The Duck showed it to me last Wednesday, but my extra bits had to be ordered in and they are what is holding up delivery. Should be ready later this week. Pictures will be taken once I have it.It is great being home in Melbourne and it was another MAGIC day for riding.
