Nice one, tim.
Ok, Monday ride.
I planned to meet Matty at Elwood LSC, as he planned to do some swimming training, as last week, we noticed a few guys and gals out swimming, Matty thought that he would join them and get in some practice for his bay swims and tris.
No Drama, I would meet him there at 6:50am and then we would ride to Spuntino for their world famous Egg and bacon sanga.
Well, I arrived about 6:35am, so I could watch the swimmers do their thing. I rode around Elwood LSC but couldn't see Matty's bike, so I sat on the beach and watched all the swimmers come out of the water. Guess what, no Matty.
At 6:50am, this cyclist approached me that looks a lot like Matty, the bloody wimp didn't swim, some pissy excuse about laying pavers all yesterday and was tired. Bloody wimp.
We rode to Spuntino and chatted away as we rode, had our E&B sangas and coffee, and also spoke to Mick the painter, who also rides to Spuntino for coffee before he starts work. Mick's a nice guy.
After brekky, we rode to Queensbridge St just past the Casino, where Matty peeled off to work and I headed back to Station Pier and headed homewards.
For something completely different (I love Monty Python), as I left Station Pier at 8:05am, I decided to count all the cyclists that were heading North along the Bay Trail. You do this stuff, when you are retired.
From Station Pier at 8:05am to the Marina at 8:21am, there were 124 cyclists passed me on the bike path heading North.
At 8:53am, at the Black Rock Clocktower, there were 188 cyclists in total that passed me and the last cyclist that passed me was at Bay Rd, Sandy
So how about that, on Wednesday, I may count trees and after that blades of grass sounds interesting. And yes, Today was another magic day for riding.
