I saw the cut off times and appeared to be the same deal as last year.
Fine no support if I dont make it to the cheekpoint. That's what I thought until the Saturday briefing.
Was so pissed off with BV for bringing in the police to control the race.
Thanks for the Kind words Tony,
Now I can rest my case and stay on my high horse. Just got an email from BV in regards to three peaks. cut and past below......
"Hi Brett ,
Congratulations you have conquered the 3 Peaks!
What a weekend! The 3 Peaks Challenge lived up to its billing as Australia’s toughest vertical climb.
With four seasons in one day and an incredibly demanding 235km route and over 5000 vertical metres it combined for a brutal test of grit and determination.
Of the 1,150 riders who started the route, which began and finished at Falls Creek, 900 hardy soles completed the course, with the last rider arriving at the finish line after almost 14 hours in the saddle.
Thank you to all for your commitment, determination and participation. As a rider you have achieved something truly amazing that only a handful of people in the world have conquered! Congratulations to those who started the ride. And an even bigger congratulations to those who conquered it!"
Now I have BV throwing 14 hours in my face as the last finisher, I could have finished had a shower and got back in time to applaud this chap back. This is just so wrong. thousands of dollars and months of training. I only pulled the pin at Dinner Plain at 2.45pm knowing I would not get to the finish line by 8pm.... 9pm EASY.
This just further adds to the information muck up for this event. I can not believe BV is celebrating and promoting a rider that finished well out of the cut off time.
Can everyone please take note of the comment "almost 14 hours in the saddle" Is my frustration now not justified. Free Entry for 2012 is the least BV can do fix this. This is just so wrong.
To Peak or not to Peak, that is the question.
