I bought an older road bike off eBay a few weeks ago with the idea of using it as a commuter. Unfortunately it's really a bit too small for me so I'm going to either sell it or find a friend who can make use of it.
Before that happens though I thought I'd give it a bit of love as it had a lot of surface rust on the unpainted areas and could look a lot nicer. So far I've used WD40 and alfoil and it's come up well, but I think some areas will need something a little more persuasive.
So here's some before photos and some after/in progress:
I'll post some more as it comes along
So far it's a lot shinier and less spotty in general. I still have the back wheel & brakes to do and another once over, especially on the pedal arm bits (no idea what they're called) as the rust there was a little worse.
Any pointers are welcome, but I just thought I'd share it with you all as it's coming up really well and should look great when it's done.
