Thats what I do, sometimes I just jump in with all my cycling gear on

I sweat profusely (been known to soak right through a sweat band in 1 hours on a cool morning) and my helmet would have grown legs if not for the weekly shower rinse.
The only thing is the white strap has gone a dirty colour that wont come clean. Might have to try some heavy duty cleaners one day to see if I can get it back to white again.

na seriously i dont wash my helmet straps, are you getting a rash or something? Surely take the padding and just wash it?
I guess you could hand wash the straps?

If you don't have to wash the straps then you're not riding hard enough!
