I recently put a new chain and cassette on my bike and am having a bit of trouble getting the front derailleur set up perfectly. Everything else went pretty well with this operation so not too bad, but could be better.
The derailleur is shifting nicely in both directions without dropping the chain, but when I'm in the big chainring there is rubbing on the derailleur cage when the chain is on any of the the largest 3 cogs (I can accept that the largest one is out of the question, but I thought I should be able to use the other two). This is happening even with the FD "trimmed" (ie shift to the big chainring then click the paddle shifter lightly to trim back). It seems to me that the FD might be situated too far "outboard" when it's on the big chainring - does this sound like the right conclusion, and if so what is the fix?
The FD is a Shimano FD-6000, and the PDF for adjusting it (from the Shimano site) is here: http://tinyurl.com/2roeqp
