Well initially yes...but then I removed the extra outside plates in order to install the power-link...so no weakness there.
The hub is 10 speed. I paid particular attention to the fact that if the spacer was installed the 11T cog on the cassette had only probably enough "bite" on the splines to be useful for a short while and I'd probably strip those off if I put a lot of power down on that gear. So I removed the spacer and it then fit snug with still no play between the 11T and 12T sprockets.
It felt great this morning. (apart from the chain falling off the large chainwheel...but that's another adjustment altogether).
