Bit hard to soak the chain in an electric wok full of molten wax without taking it off the bike
I've always taken chains off bikes for cleaning, and get pangs of guilt whenever I lube a chain without cleaning it first.
All my chains have joining links... especially this one, which is a 1/8" chain (BMX width) on my SS commuter. Especially without derailers to thread and what have you, it's trivial to whip it off, cook it, drain it, and stick it back on.
Because it's a dry wax, there's really nothing to be cleaned off it. If there's any surface crud it will sink to the bottom of the wok.
I haven't tried this Nulon blend on a geared bike chain yet. As mentioned earlier, I think it might need a dash of beeswax to soften it a bit so it doesn't flake off when flexed.
