I probably could have got an adapter claw from Ceres, but I bought one online anyway. $20 probably wasted.
I have also discovered this frame lacks any cable stops or routers, so I'm gonna buy an over-the-top bottom bracket router (shown below) and a chainstay clamp-on cable stop. Top-tube brake cable clamps I can probably get cheap, suntours or something, but they're less critical and I could do with cable ties until good ones up.
Shimano 600 downtube shifters are in the mail, so all I need now are brakes (might need long reach, ~70mm), levers (in discussion), seatpost and saddle.
I've been cleaning up the frame a bit more recently and it's coming up beautifully. Will post photos soon. Also, I took it to the bike shed on Saturday and cleaned up the bottom bracket and headset bearings. I had to ditch the bearing cages that came with the bottom bracket and go cageless due to the thicker spindle I had for it. The decals are a bit crap; peeling off in some areas and completely trashed in others. I'm thinking of getting rid of all the decals and painting 'Roadmaster' on the downtube using a stencil. Any idea what sort of paint I should use?
The fork is bent, but it's not serious and Abbottsford Cycles will be able to jig 'em back into place for under $40.
I'm looking forward to this. Hopefully I can get it done before I go on a three-month field trip in February. And hopefully nothing else I've not thought about come up.
