D Grade in Glenvale raced at an avg ~38km/hr yesterday, was 56 riders in the bunch. A tad more hectic than Casey Fields, with sharper corners over a shorter course.
If complete racing newbie, the race clinic (E grade) is a great place to start (don't be freaked by all the children there, they will sprint the socks off you). Former Tokyo Olympian keeps it in line until 3 laps to go, you will learn heaps. Normally begins at 9:00, but I believe they are considering starting at 8:30, because the course was so crowded yesterday (with E, B and A on the course at the same time).
Road bike essential!
