Well done to kathym, and to KennethC for keeping the forum cheer squad alive! Lovely morning for it.

Well, yet again I went to the start and kept asking myself WHY I said I would do this...??? (Must be stupid - they say that's the rule if you keep repeating the same mistake over and over, don't they?)
So, paid my money, said hi to Weg who managed to get out of bed early enough despite doing Sale the day before, got out the trainer and HURT while warming up - NOT a good sign...
Then KennethC turned up - an unexpected surprise - then the family cheer squad... WOW - all these people here just to watch me hurt and come last?? Hmmmm...
Well, my personal goals were firstly to finish it, secondly not to walk any of it, and thirdly to average 20kph. Achieved all 3 - actually averaged 21.1kph, so that one was better than I expected. Being cheered off the start and in the home straight (which was uphill.... and hurt) really helped - thanks everyone!
But I did come last (I think - was one time slower but I think that's the guy who flatted and carried his bike over the finish line, so I don't think beating him really counts) - but at least I did it!

I should have gone for this instead of suffering at the Port Melb criterium.
BTW, thanks for answering my queries earlier on Bleve!
