Things that school kids need to be taught is how to ride in a tight group. The basics of the road rules is a must for them, as that will help them to not do the wrong thing! Teaching them simple things like how to ride in a straight line, while still looking around everywhere!
One of the biggest problems I found with school kids last year was that they wanted to look around (which everyone does), but they couldn't stay in the straight line! This made things very dangerous especially if you were passing them! Another thing that everyone could learn is to call out passing before they plan to pass you, and to make it loud enough for the person to hear! This will help to alleviate any risk of falling off because someone pulled out without looking!
Now I have had my whinge, I think it is great that so many schools get involved and support the ride! My first ride was a few years ago now, but I did that as part of a school group! Look forward to seeing all the schools on the ride!
