You know what's scary is that I could easily justify spending that much on a commuter. Three hundred kilometers a week and my current steed has well over 70,000 under the belt so going by that it'd work out about 6 and a half cents per kilometer if it only lasted me 70,000 kms (not factoring in consumables and maintenance).
Compare a car where not only do you have to pay at a minimum double for something that may do 70,000 but you've got petrol and much more expensive servicing to think about as well.
All up I've probably spent in the region of 5K total on my current commuter, what a bargain!
