Doug did me a turn and squeezed it in. He called me today and I picked the bike up this evening.....can't fault that service and the guys in the shop made me feel welcome even though it was my first time there. I'm impressed and will definitely be going back there in future.
The bike does need a general service, new cassette and chain (which I knew). I'm a practical type person and while I'm tempted to go back to the My Mountain shop and have them do the work, a part of me says I should have a go at it myself. Another possibility is to attend a bike servicing course where I will learn and be able to do the basic servicing myself under some semblance of guidance.
