Did you end up getting a helmet (or two) sorted?
Yeah, just a basic Lazer one (like I had). Tried it out on two short trips on the weekend (to get back on the bike) and it was ok. Not as good as my last one. Real test will be tomorrow when i get back to commuting tomorrow. If it still doesn't feel right I may have to take it back.
However, I am looking at a different one for mountain bike riding.
I'm not sure you can take helmets back. What's to say you haven't dropped it, compromising it's safety? From the shop's point of view, that is. It may not even be legal, I dunno just asking the question.
IMO a buff
or similar makes most helmets mor comfortable, summer or winter. Lost mine before last day of GVBR and really missed it, icky sweat rolling down in to the eyes
Last summer, I used a sweat-band just below the helmet. It made me look a bit like Mark Knopfler in the Dire Straits "Alchemy" tour
, but I can live with that, because no sweat gets in the eyes. During the Jan 2011 AAC, I used 2 sweat bands; when one got saturated, I tucked it into a strap on my rear seatpost pack while using the other. I think I saturated both twice that day
