Rubbish. Did you even read her post? Her experiences mimic mine 99%
, except for the fact I know a bit about bikes
, and can call them on their BS. I'd had mixed experiences at BSC, but in general kacjp is spot-on when she describes the arrogant manner in which a lot of the LBS folks will treat their customers. They're not there because they want to be belittled, they just want some friggin help ffs! Don't you get that?
Since you appear to have the same combative and demanding (needy?) attitude as kacjp so it's not surprising you generate the same 'experience' in your interaction with bike shop staff. Add your 'I know a bit about bikes'
approach to the equation and it's unlikely that an LBS will ever
be able to satisfy your requirements. But everyone is different - if you can't establish a mature working relationship with any LBS then you are perfectly suited to internet purchasing and DIY.

Cool, but don't expect us to shed a tear when your business goes down the shitter
and you're blaming the big bad internets.
Well ... I'm not in business - but I have a lot of respect
for those who are and whose customers, the general public, can just walk in the door at retail level. But if I was
and it went, as you so colourfully put it, 'down the shitter'
it would indeed be my fault. I'm not in the habit of blaming others
for my own problems, or seeking their sympathy... certainly not on here. I have a very close friend who has
been successful in business for many years and he has always maintained that it is all about relationships, and that it is a two-way thing. You get what you give ...
FWIW I generally don't seem have the sort of problems with any LBS or their staff routinely moaned about on this forum. Maybe it's my easy-going nature or something, I dunno.... but If they (LBS) don't have what I need or can't help me then fine I can try somewhere else, that's my prerogative as a consumer in the marketplace.
You may well be able to suit yourself but it seems kacjp would really benefit (at this stage) from a good relationship with an LBS and my point is that she should work a little harder to establish one.
