Does the MiNewt600 have a flash mode?
It sure sounds like a powerful unit, and I have no particular experience with them, but make sure it has a flash mode. I thought some of theie earlier models didn't have flash mode.
We run Exposure Joystick lights on our road bikes - they fit the general criteria you've suggested.

This one would be pertinant, no?:
Many on here use Ayups (Brisvegas company) - I'm rather short-sighted and I swear by them - I ride before sunrise currently - and they are effective in areas where there are no street lights - 3 modes - high, low and flash - although some say the flash is too slow, hence I have a 2nd light that has a quicker flash.

They are great lights for a roadie that sees a bit of darkness. I use these on my roadie for pre dawn escapes to the hills or on bunch rides. I consider them to be a very bright "to be seen" light or passable "to see with" light.
