It's amazing what some people throw out.
Boroondara hard rubbish day 2 weekends ago - found a hillman steel lugged frame and fork, headset, cranks, deraileurs, rack, front wheel and rear fender. Stripped it; and transferred bits from shogun fixie found in Boroondara hard rubbish day 2 years ago. Coincidentally, the hillman was found across the same road from where the shogun was found!
The hillman is a nicer frame - lighter, skinnier tubes; but it is 27" wheels. Luckily, brakes reach my 700c rims. Clearences on the shogun were rally tight, so I couldn't use my preferred 32mm wide tires, but now, with the hillman, I can!
The Hillman looks like:
The Shogun looked like:
Haven't got the mudguards on yet, but it looks like lots of space for them. Yes, yes, I know brakes on a fixie ruins the look, but I DO like to stop.....
