Fair enough, all those points, but apart from muddy trail riding, build-up should not be a big problem should it....? On an 'every-day' multi-purpose bike, I mean. You'd do 10x more regular riding than heavy, dirty trails.
But all things being equal inc. cost then I guess 'why not?'
