My back's not happy I carried a lappy on my back for the last six weeks. Usually I leave the lappy at work one week out of two but six weeks on call meant I carried every day...
So having a Topeak MTX compatible rack on my new bike, I'm considering one of these:http://www.topeak.com/products/Bags/MTXOfficeBag
Or maybe the Ortlieb Office Bag. I like Ortlieb, been real good to me over the years.
Anyone had experience with either of these?
Hi Euan, I have been commuting with a laptop for 18months i have a laptop backpack that i use normally when i am going in by car or train,
Now if you have a ortlieb, ( i have tioga) panniers, i discovered my laptop backpack fits inside my pannier bag, best of both worlds and the laptop has all of the padding to support it, when you get to work just slip the backpack out of the pannier it works a dream as i also have 2 different sites i walk to in the city
Yeah, I've done that for ages. In fact typically if I'm going a distance I'll drop Mettie in to one of my panniers, works well enough.
What I'm after though is a dedicated office pannier, for want of a better word, 'cause there's stuff I always carry on the bike and that works well enough in Mettie, and there's stuff that always stays with the lappy. Being able to have that division would be a boon; from what Snuffy's saying in his last post the Ortlieb office bag sounds like the go.
And maybe the Topeak crate for the mtx, make shopping a bit handier
