I would like to join this ride one week as the first half (to Werribee) is identical to my early Sunday ride (or was when I did it).
I hated that roundabout at the top of Point Cook Road and used your by-pass on Sunday - thanks for finding that. I found the entire strip from that roundabout to the one at Sanctuary Lakes a shocker - I was always glad to get it over with and thought you may be interested to try the route I now take.
Rather than follow Seabrook Blvd back to Point Cook Road I turn left into Gundowering Drive, then right into South Terrace. Here you have to hop off to do the little zig-zag thru a gate to get on to Winterway (about 50 metres of gravel path, the same as that either side of the foot bridge).
Winterway becomes Rosebank, then you turn right into Sanctuary Lakes N Blvd.
Follow that around till you hit Sanctuary Lakes Blvd (great big roundabout), turn right and you will be back on Point Cook Road, past the shopping complex and away from the worst of the traffic.
If you look at your bikely map it will be clear enough, I hope.
Anyway I will join up when I am free of other commitments as you go past my door in Kororoit Creek Road (Williamstown) - if you find Point Cook Road as much of a pain as I do give the above a try - it is a tiny bit more mucking around, but I find it far safer.
