Sorry...I did rock up at about 25 to 8 anyway - forgot that you can't turn right from Flinders into Elizabeth St anymore
Must have just missed you...it was a good ride with some hard hills, especially for an old bloke who is a bit out of miles ATM
Anyway, heres a bit of a report - enjoyed the ride out with Jimmy, met up with vicjane (who knew me as the Vegemite Sandwich Guy - thanks to Roz, who I don't think has ever posted here, Roz & I buddied up for a rather tough Buckley's Ride earlier this year).
Great support - I don't do tomato - but the soup smelled great, the bread was fresh as, and bananas always go down well!
When you hit hills, you've got to go at your pace. The TCR certainly climbs well...I don't reckon its as fast as my OCR on descents though, after today. I reckon Jimmy would've caught me after the bigger hills though, if not for a couple of PBP aspirants I was hunting - they were way too good, heaps of miles in the legs and pulled away from me. Bon chance, guys!
After that, she was a pretty lonely ride...I'd used plenty of petrol tickets and the speed started dropping - hooray, the shop at the top of the hill - she's all downhill from there. Can't give stats though - forgot to turn the 'puter & HRm off
Finished 10 mins or so before Jimmy...If it helps my average HR was 153 and the peak 183 (Max HR 192).
