Oh well...at least I found the source of the front end noise in the old bike - some of the bearings in the bottom cup have disintegrated!!

Meanwhile I'm riding a rather cranky old Riccardo roadie - I've narrowed the major list of faults to the following
- Headset bearings
- Bottom bracket bearings
- Rear Hub bearings
- great gouge out of the rear rim (makes the rear brake a bit funky!)
Plus the two minor issues that it is pretty heavy and just a wee bit short (I bought it new when I was 19, from memory)
I might give the old bike a birthday this week, in the hope of dragging it along to the Lancefield TT next weekend - won't be a good time, but the kids seem to like the day out with Daddy
Are you planning to do any other audax rides I would recommend Spring into Seymour 200, Bunches down the bay 150 and Circuit de la mer 200.
