Well I survived "Jimmy's Torture Part III".
So much fun again today. Sorry we didn't see you 53-11, we waited until 8.10 in the car park - there is a car park a bit further up from the main entrance ( we meet there, because the entrance is always closed).
The ride was fun today, just 5 riders (Jimmy, Rossco, Craig, Thorle & I), plus of course Dragon Lady in the support car. First stop was Toolern Vale (trip was quite uneventful up until then
), then we turned north into the head wind & started the climb to Gisborne. Knowing the size of the hill ahead of us, the only thought in my head was "why am I doing this, this is too hard, why did I put myself in for this?"
. But soon had to start work climbing the hill. It's a bit different on the standard cranks compared to the triple, but managed to get up the hill (think it's a 7 km climb??). Arrived in Gisborne to re-group with Rossco & Craig who had gone ahead. Then a few little climbs & a couple of really good descents into Sunbury
. Another support car stop here, then we headed back to Brimbank Park.
Thanks again to Jimmy for organising the ride - it's great the way we all ride together & the pace accommodates us all. Also thanks to Dragon Lady for the support car (mmm, that warm soup in Sunbury was good).
HR: almost dead at some bits
