Quick ride report:
Fabulous morning to be out if rather crisp. The ride out along Burwood Hwy was very quiet. Enjoyed Lysterfield Rd that connects down into Wellington Rd - its like being in the country.
The steady uphill from Lysterfield on Wellington Rd to Clematis then onto Emerald and then Cockatoo was a good work out rewarded with a nice fast downhill into Pakenham. I saw Paternoster and Army Rd - both looked like run down C grade roads.
The back road from Nar Nar Goon that parallels the Princes Hwy is dead straight and mostly flat as a tack as far as Longwarry. Overall its in good condition but no shoulders to speak of. Traffic was very light though. BE a great stretch for a TT>
That said I wouldnt want to be on this road on a very hot windy day though.
I spied the only cyclist I saw all day about 4 kms ahead of me just after Tynong so of course the chase was on - caught him up just as we got to Longwarry.
Said hi and then he dropped me on the 3km long uphill into Drouin as a result of going to hard on the chase
