Balyang Sanctuary and the Barwon River Trail
A beautiful shady picnic area with lots of bird life. The perfect place to relax after a ride along the Barwon River. Alternatively treat yourself to lunch at the Barwon Edge Boathouse.
Brimbank Park and the Maribyrnong Creek Trail
Discover Brimbank Park's majestic River Red Gums and the rustic escarpment of the Maribyrnong River.
Jells Park and the Dandenong Creek Trail
Jells Park is at the hub of a network of parklands linked by the Dandenong Creek. Nestled in the heart of suburbia the park is abundant with native plants and wildlife and is a diverse recreation destination for the whole family - you can experience it all in Melbourne's backyard.
Waterfront City (Docklands) and the Capital City Trail
Discover Melbourne City by bike. If you don't have a bike, you can hire one for the day at RENTABIKE@Docklands!
Westerfolds Park, Diamond Creek Trail and the Main Yarra Trail
Parrots, cockatoos, kookaburras, water birds and small bush birds can all be seen here. There are also some great places to ride!
Yarra Bend Park, the Capital City and the Main Yarra Trails
Spend a day in the largest area of natural vegetation near the City of Melbourne, with varying landscapes and bike paths that wind along the 16km of river frontage.
I'm surprised that the Bay Trail (which goes within 1 km of my place) isn't mentioned this year!
So any interest anyone?
P.S. Frosty - please sticky until after next weekend
