So? What was the hill?
Well I was going to attempt Kinglake from Panton Hill/St Andrews direction but it was drizzling rain and decided not to do it, which was a very very good decision.
I drove the road instead to get a look at it and I have decided that I don't think I will ever ride it - the road, IMO, isn't cyclist friendly at all through the National Park - I had to look through the side windows of my car to see where the road went more than once. There is no shoulder at all and it just goes down. The road is probably 3/4 the width of the 1:20 as well, which I ride with no worries, but I don't think I will be doing this one any time soon, if at all.
Also on Saturday by the time I got half way up the climb I only had visibility of about 50-100m and then once at the top I couldn't even see the otherside of the roundabout in Kinglake - so visibility was maybe 10-20m if that and I didn't feel safe driving let alone doing those conditions on a bike!
Instead I went home and did a lap of the kew boulie My legs were more tired after pushing myself hard through that then they are after a Humevale or 1:20 climb!
