I'm not the drive right through kind of guy. I like to stop and look at things along the way, and make the journey part of the holiday. I always seem to spend waaaay to much time at The Dish (just outside of Parkes) on the way up to Nambucca Heads. Any town with a half decent airport is also my undoing (Tamworth is pretty good, if you're into that kind of thing
). The most I have done in a day is about 1050km - Carrum Downs to Coonabarabran. That included about 45minutes at The Dish and waaaay too long in Dubbo. I've also done Nambucca Heads to Canberra. Only about 750km, but it counts for at least double that cos it included a cross Sydney adventure (from Hexham down to Cambelltown) during Friday afternoon peak.
Sorry for going OT. I'll go away and do some work now.
Hurry up and wait.
