the mice, if you could call them that, turned out to be andrewb, irish john and harryhills. setting off we could see group after group of blinkies ahead of us up canty. as soon as we joined one there would be another up ahead, exerting its siren's call. finally we ended up at the back of a group which included bones, grunter, ness, gus and blanky (who had earlier steamed past us to get there).
we were happy with that and stayed there. bones and grunter were driving the group along at a fine pace until finally along mitcham road they decided they had had enough and let others take over.
this morning's ride had no regroups (not sure why, but i think ness's need to keep going because of work commitments unintentionally had something to do with it) but nevertheless we were not too far apart by the time we returned to canty.
in the end it turned out to be a fun ride, a good ride, but not an easy ride. strata average? 29.1.
Ness does work Tuesday's Wednesday and Thursday and this makes for a grumpy start as no coffee stop is available.
I would note that the pace change was particularly evident after Springy 2 where Gobsec upped the anti and up Col de Westfield where HarryHills and Irish John both stamped there mark on the climb.
Blanky set the tone rolling through and it suited me to continue.
I want noted that there is no longer a Belmore KOV. A recipe for ....
Enjoyed the ride and got to work on time.
