Registrations are now OPEN!
I'm running the registration and money handling side of things through MyCause:http://www.mycause.com.au/events/ballaa ... rneclassic
It's a legitimate fundraising management platform (used by lots of big-name and small-name charities
), so it's a safe and reputable site to transact with. This is the first time I've used their system, so I'm still learning... please let me know if you notice anything that doesn't make sense.
Part of my reason for using this platform is that they give each participant a fundraising page, which you can use to take sponsorships and raise more money for PKSFA if you choose to do so.
So, with the sponsorship option, it's just like the ATBIAD fundraising thing, except that
1) A significant chunk of the registration fee for Ballaarat to Melbourne also goes to charity
b) Ballaarat to Melbourne is significantly cheaper
iii) The catering for Ballaarat to Melbourne is waaaay better than the sandwich and muesli bar you get on ATBIAD
Entry this year is $70, which gets you well and truly fed... in addition to the traditional Commemorative Crap (TM).
How well fed?
Lunch: Your choice from the special lunch menu at Greendale Pub
After lunch snack: Coffee and Cake at The Jolly Miller Cafe in Bacchus Marsh
Dinner: Your choice of burger (usual price up to $20) and a schooner of Matilda Bay Little Ripper Lager at Beer Deluxe Fed Square
If you don't want to be well fed, there's a self-catering option for $35, which will just get you the maps, notes, Commemorative Crap (TM), and warm fuzzy feeling for having supported PKSFA.
There are also some special lucky random prizes for lucky random registrants
If you don't even want that... if you want to ride from Ballarat to Melbourne for free, it's all public roads, and I don't pretend to own them
I can sell you extra lunch, snack and/or dinner vouchers if your support team and cheerleading squad want to meet up and join the fun. firstname.lastname@example.org
