Last Sunday I woke at 5.45am to the sound of POURING rain in Ringwood.
A check of the BOM radar saw lots of coloured bits heading Melbourne metro way - Hmm... not worth heading out.
A quick email send out and a post on Facebook and back to bed. Ah.. sweet slumber! Warm and dry.
I woke up at 9am to see the rain was gone and the roads were pretty dry. Dang!
Seems later that day when I arrived at work, some people still did the ride and decided to drop into the shop to pass on the message that I was "soft" for not turning up.
Hmm... we'll see... THIS SUNDAY'S RIDE - 28th April 2012 - HILLS OF PAIN RIDE
Soft? Ok then... lets go ride some hills shall we?
-Terrain- Hills and lots of them. Lots of twists and turns taking in all manner of hilly back roads. This will be a true mystery ride. NOT a beginner ride.
-Pace- What ever you can manage. Hills are about riding to your own pace. Regular regroups along the way so no one gets left behind. NO MID RIDE CAFE STOP! Bring a bite to eat (banana, etc) as you WILL need it.
-Distance- Approx 50km.
-Times- Leave Bicycle HQ @ 7am (on the dot!); back around 10am-ish.
-Post ride- Cafe stop post ride. Bring a few $$ for a drink or bite to eat. Bring a small snack to munch on mid ride as we will NOT have a mid ride cafe stop. Time to harden up!
So, do you like... STUFF?
