Jon, Sorry re late reply.
Ive been sick the past 2 weeks with a chest infection and im still pretty crook so sadly- no riding for me.
Thats alright mate. Get well soon. I was glad to see the MRR has swelled in numbers. I might catch you on my return trip in about 3 weeks.
Anyway, ride report:http://connect.garmin.com/activity/121407983
I can't write as well as Bowi so this will be short. Roads were super smooth compared to what we get in Sydney but driver attitude is probably the same everywhere. Going up to Kinglake was nice. I kept a steady rhythm keeping the HR low but still ascending at a reasonable pace. I kept a close watch on the gradients. The climb was tpically 4% and 7% closer to the top. I miss these climbs as the longest one we have in Sydney is only 4km long and only 200m gain in elevation. Descending was more technical than I remembered. I had a close shave with a cemnt mixer that was driving on 1.5 lanes. Good thing I slowes down alot at that last turn.
In future, I should state average speed as around 28-29km/h instead of 30km/h.
