yep another great ride today although beach road seemed to be a lot busier than recent rides, very congested at times. i did decide to head to the city with mate from work "brett" and had a ride on said Trek 6.5 and am now confused, it too is crazy light and very nice looking in the flesh, felt as stiff and fast as the BMC and maybe by todays standards a little niche (at least for the MRR). only had about 10 mins on it, riding up and down A'beckett street managed to go pretty hard out of the saddle and in the saddle on several climbs and can say it just felt so nice going uphill. if anything it felt a little livelier in the fronted than the BMC (think it has slightly more agressive fork angle) but they rode so similar. they set it up almost identical to my bike as same size and same geometry so felt very confortable on it straight away. no idea which way i will go, quite keen to get a new bike now as like Ness said the new bikes make our 6 year old bikes feel heavy and sluggish a very different ride indeed.
road back through the city to mates place in malvern then made my way home via burke road as per usual for a nice 100K round trip, plan to be back next week, missed the whytes coffee and raison toast.
