Probably the best and shortest easy back route
to take. Not entirely quiet roads, but generally much lower traffic than the nearby highway.
The route on the map is quite good, however when you get to Seaford Road, don't turn down Railway parade, instead continue along the Northern footpath on Seaford Road for around 200m and it turns into a shared path. Follow this north for around 4 kms (has around 3 gates to get through, and 2 road crossings, one section of around 400 metres is either on the road or footpath) and you will come out to the Patterson Lakes high school at the end of Eel Race Road. Just up from this is a small bridge over the creek. Otherside of the bridge you will come across 3 roads, take the one to the Right which you will see another bike path down around 300 metres from the bridge, take this and you will go through a park. Keep to the left of the footy oval when you get to itand you will see a path that takes you through to Thompsons road (look for the dog obedience school and kindergarten to go the right way), with a shared crossing of Thompsons road. After crossing over the road, follow the fairly unused road just to the right of the crossing which has signs directing you to the boat ramp. Follow this and you'll pick up the Pattersons Lake bike path, turn right to head on towards the Eastlink trail
Most of this way is sealed until you cross over the Eel Race Road bridge, however a road bike should still be able to handle the sandy path for the short distance through the park.
