What do we think?
IMHO: It depends on how old you are now!
If 16 was only a short time ago, it may not make a difference! Otherwise, you may not clearly recall that it's a different kind of fitness to road riding. So I guess it depends on your fitness levels, and your feelings about masochism...
Well I'm only 20 but I didn't do much serious mtb riding as a teen either ... I just did more than I do now ... I agree that it is a different kind of fitness hence why I am wondering if I should do a fairly long 65km ride.....
I did go out for a mtb ride a few months ago when the tracks were open and it didn't go well
... ended up struggling to get up hills that I could've killed on my roady despite my mtb having some nice running gear (Deore XT), so I'm having second thoughts :/ ... that ride was mared by the problem of not being able to click in/out of my cleats
(made for some good battle scars) ....
And BTW are you saying road riding is not masculine??? :O :O ... just because we spend a long time getting ready for our rides trying to fit our tight lycra gear, and just because we care about our weight and weather our bum really does look big in these knicks does not mean road riding is feminine!! .........ohhh wait a second
......doesn't matter I'm told ladies like feminine men anyway
