OK, If we start from COG I'm willing to volunteer to ride down to the Lilydale railway station to meet the people coming by train and help guide the first-timers up to the trail and COG.
That old timetable I had was out of date. The three most likely trains arrive at Lilydale at 7:57, 8:15 and 8:37. I'd probably plan to arrive around 8:15 and then wait for the 8:37 train to come in (unless everybody has already arrived) and then we could all ride up to be at COG by approx 9:00AM.

The three most likely trains arrive at Lilydale at 7:57, 8:15 and 8:37. I'd probably plan to arrive around 8:10 (by bicycle) and then wait for the 8:15 & 8:37 trains to come in and then we could all ride away at approx 8:40. Allowing for a short stop at the lake en-route, the group should arrive at COG by 9:10.
If everybody arrives on the 8:15 train we could ride away at 8:20 and be at COG by 8:50. So, I suggest anyone planning to drive their car to Lilydale should plan to be there by 8:10 so they can unload and be ready to ride at 8:15 if necessary.
Those people starting from COG should plan to arrive at COG in sufficient time to be ready to start at 9:00am (or 9:15 if there are people on the 8:37 train).
I'll send my mobile phone number by PM to schwarz and all the people coming by train. If we've got a lot of people with mobiles we'll have good communication between Lilydale & COG. The aim is to all start together as one groupridinwithdale wrote: will try riding in from ftg, on the flatbar roady if its dry, wet, will cage it to COG at Mt Evelyn
The current forecast is fine & sunny max 25C. I assume you're planning to ride to Lilydale. Is that right?
Will you have a mobile phone with you?

YES, I agree. The track would be damp this morning from Sunday night's downpour and a bit of rain last night but the forecast is for clear weather for the next few days so it should be well & truly dry by Saturday.ridinwithdale wrote:will see how i go for weather have ridden it before and i dont fancy roady tyres if its damp, too much suction
