Chiefly between here and the U.S., and I'm mostly curious about old hi-fi stuff.
For eg, if a 1990 item of Japanese-made hi-fi had a USD rec retail of $400 in that year, and the U.S./AUS x-rate for that year was $1USD = $1.28USD, what would retail have been here at the time? I gather it would've been way more than the 'converted' $512? Or is this a much tougher question than I imagine, coz import and tax rates change all the time?
This calculator goes back to the start of 1990.
