Not my latest purchase... but finally got around to doing something with some of the bits I've been collecting on the sly.
Not tensioned and trued yet, but that's one wheel laced. The scale was flicking between 0.92 and 0.94kg, just happened to snap the photo at 0.94. Either way, that's not too shabby for a 32-spoke, brass-nippled, disc-braked 700c rear wheel. The matching front should be some 150g lighter.
Using asymmetric rims, so both wheels use equal length spokes on both sides... should be a bombproof ~1750g wheelset
The downside is that I don't have spousal approval for the frame these are to go on until I turn 40. And that's more than 2 years away
. I guess that means there's no rush to finish the wheel build
. I think some negotiation might be required.
