Genetics plays a part.
Perhaps I'll be dying in the post-apocalyptic famines - thanks - as I have 'normal' cholesterol - but my 'good' cholesterol is at the max... so does that mean I'll die slowly?

My cholesterol was about 9.5 total in Jan last year (with a high ratio of the bad cholesterol), and is now about 6.5 (with a better ratio of good to bad). So my guess is the diet and fish oil tablets are working, and my GP is very pleased with me.
So give the fish oil tablets a try, perhaps?
