Honestly, tell me in this day and age of cycling being the new golf that a baby boomer (or anyone over 50/55/whatever it is) has a bike and bike rack worth less than $500, heck - even my bike is worth that and im not a retiring baby boomer!
My dad and mum! Still a moot point as they never leave the back shed. (The bikes that is)
But dad, bless him, could not believe I spent $2500 on a bike
! This is the same bloke who bought my sisters bike from the local fish and chip shop, bought me a bright yellow single speed for secondary school (didn't attract any unwanted attention from the hoods at all
) where the frame warped and twisted as I pushed to keep up with the mates.
I made a vow that day that my kids would always have access to decent bikes and that I would be able to say to them "back in my day...."
