Been a while, and compared to events of the past week all this pales into insignificance.....
Things are OK; could be better, but as previously reported, have been a hell of a lot worse. A couple of weeks after returning home from his visit here, Noodles got the word from work that he was no longer required - not entirely unexpected, but still upsetting. To make matters worse, the backup options fell through too, so he was a bit down for a while.
After a couple of tense weeks, something came up, and it was looking rosy for a while, but the shine has since faded; the hours are erratic, the recent heatwave in Adelaide made for horrendous work conditions (try working in 58 degrees!
) and he's being ripped off to boot. (But with a bit of research & advice from Yours Truly, that is being rectified.
) Applications to better things have been made, but it's a waiting game to see what happens there.
And underlying it all is the lingering grief of the passing of two of his mates a month before Christmas.
On the up side, there's the anticipation of the coming HPV racing season; a new team, new vehicle and the fun of the racing and catching up with other friends from far & wide. So while things are still a little rocky at times, and understandably upsetting, his spirit fights back and refuses to stay down for too long. So all things considered, he's doing alright!
