I do believe that would be the most sensible non-car commute for people living out your way, Victor.
As much as I admire your commute, it's unrealistic to expect more than a handful of people to do that kind of ride every day.
If I were to be a cycling evangelist in Ringwood, I would be promoting the multi-modal commute. Ride to the station and catch the train; either taking the bike on the train or not, depending on your destination. That's what I grew up doing, in a Ringwood-ish suburb of Sydney.
