So I made the trek home from work last night (Edgar's road thomastown to Wyndham Vale)! Started on the ring road path and was making good time considering it was a head wind all the way. Took a wrong turn near Caterpillar and ended up half way around Rowlings (spelling) reserve, made the trek back and ended up half way up sharps road, went back to Caterpillar and found the path again. Took another wrong at an intersection and ended up about 5kms into Ascot vale, went back and found my way again! Another few detours in Laverton sent me the long way to link up with the Federation trail, but after that it was smooth sailing! Hahahahaha Thankfully I got out of work nice and early (2:30) because what should have been about 2 1/2 hours ended up closer to 5, but now I know for next time and should be all good from now on! Haha, what a trip!
Your dead right pal, you talk to people about some of my cycling rides, (werribee to you yangs and back via little river) and majority of the time the response is along the lines of "bugger that" or "that sounds like too much work"! When we were kids, if you told someone about your new bike route they would be like "hey, take me with you next time"!
Society now is about diet pills, shakes, fad diets and gimmick workout machines! No one wants to put in the effort any more. If only they could realize the list of advantages you get from going out on the bike, not just health, but that time alone to just ride and let your mind dissappear! Such a mental release!
Kathy hates being lost. She just does not get it. Has spoiled many an enjoyable drive. On the other hand... she finds a route works once thats it forever. So most of her routes take long enough for me to get lost a couple of times and still beat her. I think that that might be a control thing
