There was some talk that this rail link was to be re-opened to connect the containering off Williamstown Rd to the main ports area. Even though Docklands has progressed to effectively cut off the previous rail link, some mad fool has a drawing on his desk with re-establishing the rail link with a huge bridge to mirror the Boltie.
If this was to be road infrastructure I would consider it a likely course of action, but new rail links are usually avoided like plague by the powers that be.
