Yes it is and it will get you killed. You're too "soft" in that case.
I cannot believe (with the exception of Victor) the crap you clowns are passing my way on this. Even for Hooli to whince has got me wondering if I did something wrong here?
I did nothing wrong. I simply ride to the conditions that present me. Yeah I give in that I took risks especially with the passing on the left when turning right into Parker St, but I only did that because of the cars flying up the road behind me to squeeze into the right hand turn section. I did not want to be sandwiched between two cars and I did felt the jitters overtaking on the left of that silver car as I put myself in the way of traffic from behind. BUT the point is I took a risk, based on my *own* personal assesment of the conditions at the time. You all do the same thing, so please don't get on this silvery high-horse of yours and point fingers at me - oh... SpanishMan you are a bad rider... you must be punished HAHAHAHA... Gawwdd... give me a break!
At least I am out there riding and filming and showing it to the world what crap roads and cycling infrastructure we have. Oh and please for those of you yuppies that live in the East and think Melbourne is da best man.... get a life and come here on this side for a change and see what is really going on. It is dangerous and riding to work is a risk! To that other moron that claims riding a bike is safer than anything else... YOU HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING PAL... haha... you're just as bad as that German Scharwz and his conservative riding "style".
Well If you are starting to wonder it means there is still hope..
Let me clarify a few things.
I have got no issues with your riding style, nor your choice of roads you ride on.
I do praise the fact that you ride a bike, and think that's a very good thing.
BUT ; What gets me is your attitide wich is in your video.
You say that riding is dangerous.
Even after watching your video again, i have seen nothing, absolutely nothing that would justify calling cycling dangerous.
Cycling is offcourse not without risk, but it is not a high risk.
Don't forget, I am also from the west , I ride regularly where you ride.
I also ride on roads most people would avoid.
But I would not call it dangerous.
If I think it would be , I would drive.
Your video reeks of fear mongering, it's the worst thing you can do, I dislike it with a passion.
So are you doing something wrong?, yes calling cycling dangerous is wrong.
we already have the goverment doing this to us with the MHL, we don't need other cyclist doing the same thing.
You are not doing cyclists a favour by that video.
But hey, if you think it is dangerous, go ahead, shout it out from the rooftops, just don't be surprised if if nobody agrees with you...
