I'm trying to figure out the most efficient route for work (Point Cook to Southgate). I've looked at Google maps, but its not really a help. I'm going to give it a shot this weekend, but I'm hoping someone has done this before & can give some hints & tips.
This looks to be a very good route though I cannot really comment because I have never done it at going to work times.
Just note that along Hyde Street there is the choice of a cycle lane on the road and a bidirectional bike shared path on the river side. The shared path is in my opinion dangerous because there are several side turnings and driveways and cars and trucks do not see you till the last minute if indeed they see you at all. The same applies for the section further along beside Whitehall where it approaches Napier Street. It appears to me that rearviewmirror's route takes account of these facts.
