Mine does put out a bit of a pong sometimes.
I just count my losses & bring a complete change (except for shoes) on day like these (Tuesday 24th April).
I used the Herald Sun to stuff into my shoes to draw the moisture out of during the day while I work. And I don’t really keep my gear near my desk, there are a few places in & around the office that I’ve commandeered.
It's in a corner away from anyones desk, and no it really doesn't smell that much. Ok, maybe the socks a little.
Stopped carrying stuff to/from work a few weeks back*, not keen to start again. +1 on the newspaper in shoes, the local leader paper comes in handy for something.

Today yes, I expect them to be just as wet inside 5minutes. But there have been many days where the roads dried out and my knicks remained wet.
*Monday bag comes in with clean clothes, Friday bag goes home with dirty clothes. Still carry pump/tube/patches/tools/etc daily.
